Your data

Privacy policy

AFLUENT LLC · Last updated 21 August 2026

1. The short version

We collect what we need to give you the course, take your payment, pay your affiliate commission and answer your messages. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers on the member portal, and there is no marketing list you get added to without asking.

2. Who is responsible

AFLUENT LLC operates afluent.ai and is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: aaron@afluent.ai.

3. What we collect

You give us

  • Account details — name, email address, and the password you choose (stored hashed, never in readable form).
  • Course setup answers — your role, which AI tool you use, your goals and how much experience you have. These are stored against your account and used to tailor the lessons you see.
  • Messages — anything you write on the support page, including your name, email, optional phone number and what you tell us.
  • Affiliate payout details — where you provide them, so we can pay you.

Collected automatically

  • Payment records — Stripe processes your card and returns us a record of the transaction. We never receive your full card number.
  • Referral data — the referral link a visitor arrived through, plus the click and the resulting sale if there is one.
  • Basic technical data — IP address, browser and device type, and server logs kept by our host for security and diagnostics.
  • Progress — which lessons you have completed, so the course can show you where you are.

Some things stay entirely in your browser and never reach us — the privacy scrubber on the AI & Privacy page, the habit checklist, and your saved preferences are all local to your device.

4. Why we use it

  • To give you access to what you bought, and to keep your progress (performance of a contract).
  • To tailor lesson content to the answers you gave at setup (performance of a contract).
  • To take payment and issue refunds (performance of a contract, and legal obligation for records).
  • To calculate and pay affiliate commission (performance of a contract).
  • To answer your messages (legitimate interests).
  • To keep the site secure and working, and to prevent fraud and abuse of the affiliate programme (legitimate interests).
  • To meet tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).

5. Cookies and referral tracking

  • Essential cookies keep you logged in and keep the site secure. Without them the portal cannot work.
  • Referral cookies record which affiliate link brought a visitor, so commission can be attributed. They last for a limited window and hold a reference to the affiliate, not to you personally.
  • Advertising: if you arrive from a paid advertisement, the advertising platform may set its own cookies subject to its own policy. We do not run advertising or profiling trackers inside the member portal.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser. Blocking essential ones will stop the portal working; blocking referral ones may mean an affiliate does not get credited.

6. Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run this, each handling data on our behalf:

  • WP Engine — hosting and server logs.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Our email provider — transactional email such as account, receipt and support messages.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where we are legally required to disclose something.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

7. AI tools

The course teaches you to use AI tools operated by other companies. When you use one, you are dealing with that company directly and under its privacy policy, not ours. Anything you paste into it goes to them, not to us.

8. How long we keep it

  • Account and course data — while your account exists, and for a short period afterwards.
  • Payment and commission records — as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically several years.
  • Support messages — up to two years, so we have context if you write again.
  • Server logs — a short rolling window kept by our host.

9. Where your data goes

Our hosting and service providers are based in the United States, so if you are outside the US your data will be processed there. Where a transfer out of the UK or EEA needs a safeguard, our providers rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent where we relied on it.

If you are in California, you also have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

To exercise anything above, write to aaron@afluent.ai. We will respond within the time the law allows. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to your data protection regulator.

11. Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

12. Security

The site runs over HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, card details never touch our servers, and access to member material requires a login. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data and the law requires it, we will tell you.

13. Marketing email

We send the emails needed to run your account: access, receipts, support replies and affiliate payment notices. If we ever send anything promotional, it will have an unsubscribe link and stopping it will not affect your course access.

14. Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and note the change on this page.

Note for the site owner: confirm the email provider named in section 6 matches what the site actually uses, and have a lawyer review this before relying on it. It is written to describe the site accurately, but it is not legal advice.
